How to Become a Phlebotomist Technology

    Attend a licensed school to study phlebotomy. This is typically a two-year degree offered by community colleges and night schools across the country. These courses teach students the skills they need to work in the field and are often taught by those working in the health field.

    Complete an internship while in school to gain more experience and exposure. These practices allow students to work as a phlebotomist technicians while still enrolled full time or part time in school. They also give students something to put on your resume when you start looking for a job.

    Get certified as a phlebotomy technology through an organization like the National Phlebotomy Association. There is a requirement that students have a certification, but doctors and hospitals take kindly to those who have it. This shows that you are willing to put a little more effort in his career and that is current in modern methods.

    Search for available positions as a phlebotomy tech in your area. These positions are typically list of hospitals, doctors' offices, medical offices and other places in the industry of health care. This is one of the fastest growing fields, which makes it fairly easy to find an open position.

    Application as many positions as possible to improve their chances of finding a job. Instead of applying for only a few jobs, apply for everything you are and you have a better chance of getting the right job. People with a degree, experience and a certificate has the best chance of finding a better paying job as a phlebotomist technology.
